demonia: (Callisto Hobby)
Alright, quick update.

Anime Boston was awesome. Was kept so busy, I didn't really get to do anything in the Dealers Room (save for having and impromptu Yami no Matsuei photoshoot.) I went to both Dating Games, Masquerade (started the 'take it off' chant,) and cosplay chess. Oh! And the formal ball as Itoshiki Nozomu from Sayonara, Zetsubou Sensei! From there, I tangoed with the Spy from Team Fortress 2 and rumba'd with an old friend of mine.

I've been sick. For about a month now, actually. It started from a bridal shower, where the place had wicked cold air conditioning. Which wasn't pleasant with the warm and humid day outside. Then, with working outside in the freezing rain, I stayed sick. Anime Boston didn't help, so I'm hoping the weather will be kind enough to let me recover.

Otakon in July! LARPing will be my usual thing.

Finished the alternate Muraki coat, which fits better than I had expected. Put that with the new white slacks, and yummy~

That is all. Seeya!

Hey everyone. For those interested, I'll be present at Anime Boston 2008. Look for my white coat and suit, and silver hair.  I'll be there the entire weekend!

And it's not official, but there might be a Muraki variation, which is still canon! (Teenage Muraki, as shown in a Hana to Yume cover.)

I have my fabric, extensions, and props. My kimono came in, and I gave myself the dye job. So, I'm just about set. I'll need to finish the alterations to the dress, which will no doubt take a while, but I'm alright with that. I'll be working on something that goes around the waist, and letting out the chest area today. Then work on that train another day, if the other stuff takes too long.

I'll be bringing my laptop, and the digital camera, so I don't have to worry about running out of memory space. Costumes, in general, are together and ready for transport. Plans need to be written down somewhere, but that can be done at any time.

In 8 days, not counting today, I'll be at the Sheraton in Boston. Ready, in cosplay, to pick up my badge.

I even have everything up to date, bill-wise. There's nothing to worry about, and I feel so relaxed. Sure, my 80+ year old aunt had some heart issue, but she's recovering. Nothing is about to get in my way, though.

You know how attempts to lose weight fail most of the time, when you have no local support? That's not why I never was able to succeed in my attempts, so much as it was that I couldn't find the right plan. However, my mother, who's five inches shorter than me, and easily 50 pounds heavier, is finally giving in to the way of healthy living.

It took a while. She can't help but eat what's bad for her. Despite having prior heart problems, and all this other crap, she had the habit of eating red meat, raw, eating a lot of chocolate, and just eating a lot in general. Now, don't get me wrong, I do eat a lot of something when it's in front of me, but that's mostly because I end up skipping over meals. Not an excuse, but explanation as to the cause.

Now, we're on something called Provida's 6-week body makeover. Not a diet, and not generic. You go over very basic questions, including habits over the past, and any current physical conditions. With that, you get to learn of your eating plan, which is adjusted to speed up your metabolism, and deal with the nutrients that require focusing on. I'm basically a B, which is typically for those who aren't completely round, but killed their metabolism from eating disorders, and skipping meals. That, and with the tips on what to increase from low blood pressure, I have a good idea on what to eat.

Is it crazy that I'm uber excited over this? Because of the eating plan, I was able to get a rice cooker, which is also a steamer. I'm allowed to have poultry and fish, which is basically what I always eat, rice if it's steamed, and as many greens as I want. Then, in terms of fruit, I simply have to mix it up a bit.

Shopping included us raiding the spice aisle, cleaning out the fresh produce section, and getting egg whites. Oh! There are these egg noodles, made of the whites, which are also allowed. We have flounder, tuna, something that I think was cod, and chicken. Fresh herbs and spices, along with Bok Choi, green onions, broccoli, asparagus, bell peppers galore... I'm salivating over the ideas.

Other than the eating plan, there's a simple diet, made to deal with certain parts of your body, in the way you want. Whether it's sculpting, leaning, or building the muscle area, they have an exercise for it, along with the recommended schedule. It's so easy.

So, as you can see, I'm beyond excited. On the 25th, I'll take a 'current progress' picture, along with others in my cosplays. Partially for Anime Boston's events, and to let people see how I'm doing. Tomorrow would be the 'beginning' picture.

I really have a good feeling over this.

You know a weight loss plan will work if you're excited and more than willing to go all the way for the diet. Wish me luck!

10 months till I can legally drink! Whoo, a dance for me!

I think I forgot about this journal again, which included checking up on everything. Wow, bad me. I'll remember to make a resolution about keeping tabs on everything again. I promise?

Quick things to keep everyone updated:
*I found a picture of my father recently. It was from the 60's, when he was in his late 20's. After some motorcycle accident, and not too long after having gotten out of the air force.
*After realizing that some outdoor rats broke into the back room (thanks to someone going through said room to steal things,) we now have a hole that can easily be seen through. Now, we're fixing the walls up, painting them, possibly redoing the floors and more stuff!
*Apparently, my credit was more than good enough to get interest free financing for 6 months. I believe they said I can easily get approval for loans around 45 hundred. So, with my credit, my mom and I bought a 3 piece furniture set.
*About 4 days ago, I went to Lowes. As such, now I have a new bookcase holding all of my beautiful manga. Actually, now that it's organized, I've been thinking of selling some of it on eBay. Just to clear a few things up. Maybe I'll do the same with my old collection of pokemon cards. (Not my Yu-Gi-Oh! ones. I actually like looking through those.)
*We may be getting more routes at work. Typically, we only work on Fridays, but now there's talk of the final paperwork being finished up on another day. We do that, then I can join up and get paid more. Extra cash, yay!

Less important stuff, some would say:
*Saw Gankutsuo: The Count of Monte Cristo. It's a great anime, even if some people may be confused by the textures used all the time. I love the story, though!
*Started to watch Loveless. Right now, I watched the first disc, and think that I may want to try cosplaying Soubi.
*Kikyo costume came in recently. So, right now, I'll be getting to ordering wigs and the like. With a new wig head, wigs, and a few other things, it'll come out to a bit over 100. >.< Thank you Christmas cash.
*Dreamgirls is an awesome movie. Ya'll should watch it, yup.
*I think we have an industrial strength sewing machine somewhere in the house. I'm going to find it, and work on altering my leather pants.
*Started working with people for hotel arrangements and the like for Anime Boston and Otakon this year. Yay!

Does anyone want character art? ^^; I don't know, I think that I may be willing to go about accepting commissions. Head to Micheals, and see the frames they have there, and try to offer stuff up. *Really needs to start making more cash with things she knows how to do.*
Maybe I'll look up jobs at banks...
