New York Anime Fest is on the horizon, and it's remains to only be an hour's train ride away from me. Membership has been purchased, and all that remains at this point is to get the train tickets for those three days. It'll be a little tricky, as I'm not sure if I'll have to leave early on Friday for work.

Even more, I've been wanting to cosplay as Hungary (from Hetalia,) sooo much. Partially because she's awesome, and another part being that my hair is at a good length for it. I just wish I had the time and money for it... No such luck.

Guess I'll be wearing some casual-wear, and simply sporting a surrender flag for LARP.

Not Dead

Really, I swear I'm not dead. Not yet, at least.

So a bunch of technological crap happened at once. My laptops apparently joined together in a suicide pact, and died on the same day. So I've been working on getting everything to fix them. Funny thing about this pact, is that they didn't go out in the same way.

Old Laptop:
Hard drive failure, after all these years. No way I'm giving up on it, though. It ran smoothly, and has Wave Out Mix for video recordings. Current laptops don't have that feature for the sound card drives! Either way, after that 08 Fail on the HDD test, I went to Newegg and purchased a new, better, HD, as well as a memory card.

New Laptop:
Apparently the motherboard was faulty, which is why it started to fail. Once I got the diagnosis, I contacted HP to set things up for repair. It arrived at the repair place yesterday, so I'll hopefully get it back in a couple of weeks. It might not become my main laptop at home, but with the battery, I'm definitely toting it around on trips. (It's much lighter than the older laptop.)

I've also been doing a bunch of other things. A new morning regimen of biking for about half an hour, more if feeling well, no matter the weather. Soon I'll be adding a lap of walking as well, after the biking. A shame it's winter, though.  I'm so sensitive to cold!

Hats are working on being made, but there's only one completed one at the time. I've tried applying to jobs, but over here they don't want you if you aren't hispanic, as they take over the majority of the population around here. A shame, huh?

Convention stuff! Oh, convention stuff... Still planning to go to AB and Otakon, and I'm working on a cosplay all on my own this time. After sewing up the yukata and undergarment, I'll be in despair in no time! (Itoshiki Nozomu, if you couldn't tell from that hint.)

Oh, I'm also a goon now. I fell to the dark side. Oops?

I'm not dead!

Alright, that was a little random, even for me. I'll admit that. Still, I've been sick a lot these days. In fact, just yesterday I was getting to some really bad states. Enough to cut down on chatting. Well, there's a mailing list that I like to reply on, when it gets active.
I have officially announced my activity to lurking mode.

It seems to like hitting me once a month now, for random lengths of time. Some times it's constant, and the rest it just fades in and out.

Also, I've been playing around with CSS a bit on Gaia. So I'm gonna try to bring it over here, and see how that goes. It's really fun! Teaching myself is a pain, but I think little by little, I'm doing better. Don't be surprised to find a completely new look. I love my Saiyuki theme, but it's time for a change.

Cosplay news:
Commission is set, and Muraki's high school uniform will be coming to me in time to apply for Anime Boston's events. I'm going to buy some stuff to dry clean clothes in dryers, to get my coat and suit done. I actually want to look up something to do a suit jacket, but without the sleeves, thanks to the heat that's in convention centers.
Also, I'm asking on a couple of sites who I should be cosplaying as. Some of you that already know me, well... You could probably come up with ideas without these, but I'm posting up links of pictures. Maybe... Yeah, links will work, and information on what I do. They go in order from oldest to newest, show different hair lengths and styles (kinda,) as well as angles.

    Will:
  • Cross-play (Despite D-cup breasts. xD)
  • Wear wigs (I'll even style them myself!)
  • Wear contacts. (I wear them anyway! So why not, right?)
  • Try something from a series I never heard of.
    Wont:
  • Go as someone who looks like they're wearing practically nothing. I don't go for the whore stuff.
  • Cosplays that will be OMFG TOO HARD! You know, the stuff meant for the pros. I could commission, but despite success with Muraki and Ni, I consider cosplay murky waters for me.
  • Fur suits. I love how well people do in them, but I can't handle wearing it myself.

Convention News:
Anime Boston is coming up! I have registered, and may be reprising my role as Muraki. Just as I had in 2006. Ni may make an appearance, but my main theme is Muraki and his high school version, as the side stories show. I got a great friend who has a room ready, and we'll be sharing with a bunch of gals from her anime club.

With Otakon, I've signed up to the LARP. So far it seems promising that I'll get my Ni. Yes, Jill... I know. I need to start the Knights who say Ni! I think a lot of good things will come up. To help them out, I linked over to several youtube videos of the Saiyuki Burial OVA's. Subbed, and filled with Ni's past. Well, his, Sanzo's, and a bit of other Saiyuki characters. I think this will help them update and fill out those characters.

See ya for now!

Jilly!

Did you remember to reserve the hotel?

Also, when you contact me on AIM, rely more on my other screenname: Demonia105

Got it? Good. Now let's use this entry to plot, deceive, and... act like we're part of some crack!fic.

I have my fabric, extensions, and props. My kimono came in, and I gave myself the dye job. So, I'm just about set. I'll need to finish the alterations to the dress, which will no doubt take a while, but I'm alright with that. I'll be working on something that goes around the waist, and letting out the chest area today. Then work on that train another day, if the other stuff takes too long.

I'll be bringing my laptop, and the digital camera, so I don't have to worry about running out of memory space. Costumes, in general, are together and ready for transport. Plans need to be written down somewhere, but that can be done at any time.

In 8 days, not counting today, I'll be at the Sheraton in Boston. Ready, in cosplay, to pick up my badge.

I even have everything up to date, bill-wise. There's nothing to worry about, and I feel so relaxed. Sure, my 80+ year old aunt had some heart issue, but she's recovering. Nothing is about to get in my way, though.

10 months till I can legally drink! Whoo, a dance for me!

I think I forgot about this journal again, which included checking up on everything. Wow, bad me. I'll remember to make a resolution about keeping tabs on everything again. I promise?

Quick things to keep everyone updated:
*I found a picture of my father recently. It was from the 60's, when he was in his late 20's. After some motorcycle accident, and not too long after having gotten out of the air force.
*After realizing that some outdoor rats broke into the back room (thanks to someone going through said room to steal things,) we now have a hole that can easily be seen through. Now, we're fixing the walls up, painting them, possibly redoing the floors and more stuff!
*Apparently, my credit was more than good enough to get interest free financing for 6 months. I believe they said I can easily get approval for loans around 45 hundred. So, with my credit, my mom and I bought a 3 piece furniture set.
*About 4 days ago, I went to Lowes. As such, now I have a new bookcase holding all of my beautiful manga. Actually, now that it's organized, I've been thinking of selling some of it on eBay. Just to clear a few things up. Maybe I'll do the same with my old collection of pokemon cards. (Not my Yu-Gi-Oh! ones. I actually like looking through those.)
*We may be getting more routes at work. Typically, we only work on Fridays, but now there's talk of the final paperwork being finished up on another day. We do that, then I can join up and get paid more. Extra cash, yay!

Less important stuff, some would say:
*Saw Gankutsuo: The Count of Monte Cristo. It's a great anime, even if some people may be confused by the textures used all the time. I love the story, though!
*Started to watch Loveless. Right now, I watched the first disc, and think that I may want to try cosplaying Soubi.
*Kikyo costume came in recently. So, right now, I'll be getting to ordering wigs and the like. With a new wig head, wigs, and a few other things, it'll come out to a bit over 100. >.< Thank you Christmas cash.
*Dreamgirls is an awesome movie. Ya'll should watch it, yup.
*I think we have an industrial strength sewing machine somewhere in the house. I'm going to find it, and work on altering my leather pants.
*Started working with people for hotel arrangements and the like for Anime Boston and Otakon this year. Yay!

Does anyone want character art? ^^; I don't know, I think that I may be willing to go about accepting commissions. Head to Micheals, and see the frames they have there, and try to offer stuff up. *Really needs to start making more cash with things she knows how to do.*
Maybe I'll look up jobs at banks...

Okay, I was planning to write up an update about how Anime Boston was, I swear. There was just the case of me never getting around to it, with my planning for Otakon; Only a month away, too! I'll let you know all about it now, then something about Otakon! Yeah, this is going to be a big one, but no worries; I remember how to do LJ cuts!

This one is for Anime Boston )

This is for Otakon )

And this is for current events and stuff, bitches! )

So that's basically the gist of things, so I hope someone actually reads about this. xD At least I finally got around to all of this. Ja, minna-san!

Update.

Okay, so let me start off by saying that I've been feeling better. I know, you all are crying and hoping I succumbed to the terrible flu. Sometimes I get this bad cough, but it goes away after a little while. I've also got a new routine set up, naturally done while everyone is asleep. It gets my pulse up so much, though hurts my knees a little. Why" Because they suck Foamy arse. :XD: Cracking, popping, aching and collapsing when I don't want them to. It's also improving my balance somewhat, as my side kicks with the left leg have been somewhat shakey.

Now, art ideas are kinda stopping at the moment, but I'm still looking over them. Some which are still related to CLAMP's Cardcaptor Sakura clow cards. Just in case there are other ideas, while watching the series, I've been taking screen shots of the cards in manifested and card form. Just for the fun of it. I like The Dark and The Light when they're holding eachother. Gives a gal some ideas, ya know? Who knows, if I get good enough, I may sell the original sheets while framed in some convention.

Speaking of conventions! The last of the Muraki stuff is just about handled. I need contacts and non-perscription glasses. Other than that, I'm basically finished. Makeup has come in, I have the red studs, and the clothing stuff are handled. For a 'just in case,' I'll be getting more ace bandages for the binding. With the routine, done every day of course, things should be much easier. After all, losing inches only looks better in time, if anything else. Especially in my case. xD

Now it's 5:50AM EST, and I've yet to get to sleep. So maybe I should be working on that.

Actually, when I wake up, I should contact Alix. Ya know, to make sure on the day I should go to her parents place. Confirm dates, plans, locations... All that jazz. (I wonder if she noticed I added her LJ to my friends list. xD)
